2007
I'm sure everyone has heard the news by now. Pokerworks is almost a one stop shopping for all of our favorite poker bloggers. Linda, Iggy, CC to name a few.
Add these guys to the mix:
Change100
Maudie
Amy Calistri
JoeSpeaker
Consider. Workplace. Productivity. Destroyed. Completely.
Congrats on the new gig guys!
Don't forget to check out Drizz. He's got a new gig too.
Drizz
Congrats Drizz!
I've been pondering this for some time. Changes might be forthcoming for the new year. If you haven't noticed, I don't write or post very often. I think it's time for Poker in the Weeds to branch out in 2007. I hope to write more. Maybe.
But to help make up for my lack of blogging, I've decided to hire some writers to provide poker content for me. Well, I wouldn't say "hired." That's not what I'd call it.
It's more like outsourcing.
TPS reports. Check.
Branding? No.
I'm just lazy and want to maintain my high page rank. I could really use the content though.
More Poker? And bad beats?
I hope so.
Hi Super Nintendo Chalmers! Me fail English? That's unpossible.
What the fuck?
So I've signed on two part time bloggers to work for me. This outsourcing could be a good thing. Then again, maybe not. We'll see.
Openings available.
My buddy Daryl recommended his friend Mustafa. I've met this guy once. He's on the payroll now.
I like to gamble.
I had to hire The Rooster to take care of Mustafa's salary negotiation. Mustafa's kind of thuggish and his rate included some crazy perks. I knew The Rooster was the only man for the job.
I wasn't too thrilled about some of the perks. I cringed when I saw The Rooster's text message Monday afternoon.
"Mustafa also wants a subcription to ESPN's magazine added to his contract."
Some. Nerve. Pffft.
Ashvin is from India. I don't know this guy. He's been emailing me for months. He's from India and begged me for a part time job.
I spoke to him on the phone once. I pictured Apu or Baboo Baaht. Probably so wrong of me. Oh well.
I gave in after the 100th email. He needed the money and came on the cheap which was good. Viva la outsourcing!
We have our own conversion rate here at PitW.
So Ashvin claims to be a former Party Poker affiliate rep. He lost his job recently. Downsizing is a bitch. Or is it rightsizing? RIF? Reduction in force?
Whatever they call it. . . . it's getting fired. It's amazing how this impending law can affect someone on the other side of the world.
Luckily for Ashvin . . . he can earn some extra bucks writing on this little poker blog.
Enjoy.
Two Black Aces: Fleecing Whitey One Dollar at a time.
by Mustafa
Hi all. I'm Mustafa. I'm originally from Brooklyn, RED HOOK!! I recently relocated from down south back to the East Coast. I've been gambling for years but only recently started playing poker online. I love craps. I'm no Ashy Larry though, shit. Fuck that guy.
I was going to start my own poker blog a few months ago but fell asleep on it. I decided it was pointless after that cracker Bill Frist fucked shit up for me. He took away my new livelihood for sure. Outlawing online gambling is just plain stupid in my book. Just when I started to kill the No Limit tables this dumb cracker politician has to kill my new love. I'll do what I want with my money, thank you!
I love online poker. I was so sick about this for awhile. Usual corporate/political bullshit is involved here I'm sure. Luckily, I can still play on Full Tilt and Pokerstars. This way I still get to take my aggression out and fleece as many donkeys as I can.
I hope to share my experiences with Big D's audience. I hear it's no Tao of Poker though. I read that shit. I like Tao of Pauly better. Keep it real.
This blogging shit ain't so tough.
I want my own user ID damnit!
News Alert:
These positions are part time only right now.
Payment for writing duties is negotiable. Email me.
I Hate Party Poker
by Ashvin Suresh
Hello! I am Ashvin Rattan Suresh. I live in India and wish to tell you about this bad beat I took recently.
First, let me tell you about myself. My highest paying job is now gone. I used to work for Party Poker. They fired me. Thankfully, I also work for some other American companies that outsource their customer service to my country. I still work in the same office building as Party Poker. Same floor even. Rotating shifts suck. Even though I kept my other positions I make less money now. Party Poker was the big bread winner for me. It is no more.
I hate Party Poker and American politics.
I was told that I must be quick, brief and talk about poker. I don't think I'm "long winded" like the boss man says. Anyway, while on break from American Express, I logged onto Pokerstars and hit the $1/$2 limit holdem table. I raised with AA on the button. No respect. Six players called me. Flop was awful. All red cards. My aces were black. Of course. When the river card was finally dealt, I had the 4th best hand. Some guy with 7-2 offsuit won with a flush. Fishy!
Online poker sucks.
I'm skeptical to say the least. Not too sure about these two clowns.
Outsourcing strategy a go. Check.
Farm animals will be tough.
Will 100 pounds of slab cut do the job?
Make the call.
Stay tuned . . . . maybe.
